Inside the final furlong, Bollin Neil (GB), placed second, shifted right-handed causing the rider of the winner, Lord Torranaga (FR), to become short of room on the rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The performance of Overthink (IRE), which finished unplaced, beaten by 26¾ lengths, was considered.
It was noted that the representative of Mark Johnston could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance on this occasion and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Overthink (IRE), during routine testing, revealed the gelding was lame on its left-fore.
Following the race, Oisin McSweeney reported that he lost his iron on Tindrum (GB), placed third, when leaving the stalls.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Bollin Neil (GB), which started favourite and finished second, lost its right-hind shoe.
