An enquiry was held to consider why Ed Dunlop was running Caen Na Coille (USA) here at Sandown on going described as Good to Soft, Soft in places, having declared the filly a non-runner at Goodwood on 9 June 2019 on ground with the same official description.
The representative of Ed Dunlop stated that after heavy rainfall the previous evening, the ground at Goodwood, in his opinion, appeared to be riding softer than the official description and was therefore willing for the filly to take her chance and run here today.
Following the race, Kieran Shoemark reported that Champ Ayr (GB), unplaced, was slowly away and Gabriele Malune reported that Juniors Dream (IRE), which finished last of the nine runners, was never travelling.
