Permission was given for Revolutionise (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and for Notre Belle Bete (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
Revolutionise (IRE) ran without its declared tongue strap as upon arriving at the start, the gelding was found to have chewed through and damaged it beyond repair.
Stuart Williams subsequently reported that in his opinion, the gelding’s performance was not adversely affected by running without its tongue strap.
An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the first bend involving Dance Fever (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Adam Kirby and La Tihaty (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Saffie Osborne.
Osborne was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as when attempting to find cover, she allowed her mount to shift left-handed when insufficiently clear of a free running Dance Fever (IRE), causing Kirby to take a check off heels.
The performance of La Tihaty (IRE) which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
The representative of Roger Varian could offer no explanation for the colt’s performance.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of La Tihaty (IRE) failed to reveal any abnormalities.
