The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final two furlongs involving Orandi (FR), ridden by J
Kearney, placed first, Zabeir, ridden by J.A. Powell, unplaced, and Loingseoir, ridden by C. Geerdharry, placed fifth where it appeared interference may have occured. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.A. Powell stated that he received pressure from his left approaching the two furlong pole. C. Geerdharry stated that he made a manouvere to his right to avoid beaten horses and made contact with Zabier. J. Kearney stated that he was on the outside of the incident and received slight pressure from his inside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found C. Geerdharry was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (first offence)the Raceday Stewards suspended him for two racedays
The Raceday Stewards interviewed W. Joyce, rider of Come On The Lads, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. W. Joyce accepted he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found W. Joyce was in breach of R.10.3(h)(arm above shoulder height) and in considering his record in this regard (second offence) they suspended him for four racedays
Gillian Scott, trainer of Racing Royalty (GB), reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her charge lost a front shoe in running
J.A. Powell, rider of Zabeir, trained by Donal Kinsella, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran short of room.
An extended handicap for four years old and upwards (75 = 10st)
