Ger is so dedicated. He just loves animals and that shines through with certain horses especially this lad. He just gets into their heads and fills them with loads of confidence. In our yard they are happy horses. Happy staff make happy horses and visa versa. He doesn’t copy what other trainers do - he thinks outside the box. Sometimes you think this lad is losing it but all of a sudden you realise none of us would have thought of that with certain genius things that he does. It’s been a great ride and it will be a long ride for the next 1,000 but hopefully we are still there for it!. We’re delighted to get it in Roscommon as well as it’s a very lucky track for us. Michael Finneran and his crew are very good to us and have great facilities which they are always upgrading. It’s a front-runner’s track but Colin was very good on him. He nick’s lengths on bends and is riding with so much confidence. The horse was threatening to do that for a long time and it’s great for Sean Jones and David Spratt to be part of this historic winner.

The Stewards interviewed Nikita Amelia Kane, rider of Geological, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that she was trying to avoid hitting the rider on her inside. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Nikita Amelia Kane was in breach of Regulation 10.3.h, the use of the whip with the arm above shoulder height. Having considered Nikita Amelia Kanes's record in this regard, the Stewards, pursuant to the provisions of Regulation 10.6.a, suspended Nikita Amelia Kane for six racedays
At the request of the Stewards, W.M. Lordan, rider of Flying Scotsman, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled and was flat out all the way
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Flying Scotsman, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards (90 = 10st)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 10st and the minimum weight shall not be less than 8st 6lbs
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra for each race won.
