Permission was given for Precision Storm (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the winning post on the first circuit involving Precision Storm (GB), unplaced, ridden by Miss Becky Smith, Visibility (IRE), placed second, ridden by Mr Frederick Tett and Taqwaa (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Miss Emma Stewart.
As a 7lb claiming amateur, Miss Stewart was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
The interference was found to be accidental as Stewart had been unable to prevent a hard pulling Taqwaa (IRE) from improving up the inside of May Night (GB), placed fourth, which resulted in her mount shifting left- handed across the running of Visibility (IRE), which was badly hampered and in turn briefly crowded Precision Storm (GB) for room on the rail.
Following the race, Miss Becky Smith reported that Precision Storm (GB), unplaced, stopped quickly; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
