The Stewards enquired into the fall of Jeff Kidder, ridden by J.M. Sheridan, after rounding the bend into the back straight. J.M. Sheridan reported that his mount slipped independently after rounding the bend into the back straight
C. Timmons, rider of Jazelle, reported that his mount lost her footing on the ground at the bend turning into the back straight. S. Foley, rider of Adamaris, reported that his mount caught a heel and stumbled while crossing the road at the top of the track. Having considered the evidence and viewed a recording of the race, the Stewards were satisfied that the fall of Jeff Kidder was accidental in nature and they therefore took no further action
The Stewards interviewed C.D. Maxwell, rider of Dazzling Darren, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that C.D Maxwell was in breach of Regulation 10.3 (g) in that he used his whip with excessive frequency, and having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards suspended him for 1 Raceday
R.P. Whelan, rider of Nudge The Judge trained by R.P.Cody, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount slipped on the far bend leaving the back straight.
An extended handicap for three years old only rated 45-65
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 10st and the minimum weight is 8st 6lbs
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra for each race won.
