An extended handicap for four yrs old and upwards rated 50-80
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and; after time of declarations shall not be; less than 11st ; In accordance with HRI directive 2 (i) (c); the maximum stipulated weight in this; race is 11st and the minimum; stipulated weight is 9st 7lb
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner to carry 5lb extra for each race won
Riders - The Rules and Instructions relating to the Overnight Nomination of shall not apply in this instance. The top 12 horses declared in race card order will be allocated riders from the selected Flat and National Hunt teams by lot. Trainers of any remaining horses in this race should declare a rider of their choice. The draw for riders will take place at 10.30 a.m. on Sunday 13th October with the toss of a coin to determine which team draws odd and even numbers. Individual riders will then be drawn by ballot. Points will be scored by the first eight placed horses on a scale of 15-12-10-8-7-6-5-4, if the horse is eligible to score points, and the team that accumulates the highest number of points will be deemed the winner. In the event of there being less than 12 horses declared or a non runner the equivalent rider in the opposing team eg. Nos. 1 & 2, Nos. 3 & 4 etc., will not be eligible to score points. The Stewards have suspended Rule 155 for the purpose of this race. in the challenge will wear the registered colours with each team wearing a distinguishing cap.
