Strolling Home is rated just 48 on the Flat but put in a decent performance to win an average contest here. The gelding won with a little in hand and should pay his way over the summer. According to winning trainer Pat Martin "that was a nice performance and he jumped great. He handled the track at Downpatrick so we knew he'd handle here. He'll probably go for a winners race at Ballinrobe in two weeks time."

Arviz had shown ability in the past on the Flat, and while he is surely flattered by his Flat mark of 84, should win over hurdles. He was well beaten on his handicap hurdle debut at Downpatrick but seemed to progress a little since then and while no match for the winner, will take beating in a similar event.

Mega Steps is another who should prove competitive in similar events over the summer while an identical comment applies to Papa Bear, who is not as good as his Flat mark of 75 implies.

Aggie ran well on her debut and should win races in time while favourite Imperial Hills had no chance after being badly hampered at the first.

Pillar of Hercules, a smart performer on the Flat, was having his third over hurdles and was eased when out of contention a long way out. He has shown ability and should win handicap hurdles.

Non-Runners were the three reserves.
