Permission was given for Machios (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
James Doyle, the rider of Monash, placed fifth, had appeared to fail to ride out to the winning post.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Doyle explained that the gelding was running freely and had no more to give in the final stages, a fact which he reported at Scales.
He further added that his mount was tiring and coming back underneath him, and he felt that he did not lose any momentum as a result.
The Stewards noted his explanation.
Following the race, the representative of Richard Hannon reported that Sri Sene Power (IRE), unplaced, was unsuited by the going, which was officially described as Heavy, Soft in places, on this occasion and would prefer a faster surface.
Jason Watson reported that Machios (GB), placed third, jumped awkwardly from the stalls.
Edward Greatrex reported that Kommodity Kid (IRE), unplaced, stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
