At the 5th fence from home, Benechenko (IRE), placed seventh, jumped sharply right-handed making contact with the winner Sheneededtherun (IRE) and then whilst getting rebalanced, Benechenko further collided with High Counsel (IRE), which was pulled up, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Benechenko (IRE).
Following the race, Tom O'Brien reported that Clondaw Bisto (IRE), placed third, stopped quickly, Connor Brace reported that Benechenko (IRE), placed seventh, jumped right-handed and David Bass reported that Big Difference (IRE), which was pulled up, hung and jumped right-handed before stopping quickly; the Veterinary Officer reported that during a routine post-race examination and test, the gelding was found to have sustained a small scrape to his inside right-fore heel and had also lost his right- fore shoe.
