Hostelry (GB) jinked and unseated its rider before galloping loose for a short distance to the start, where it was caught.
Having been examined by the Doctor and Veterinary Surgeon at the start, both the rider and filly were deemed fit to race.
Laura Pearson, the rider of Hostelry (GB), placed third, was suspended for 2 days for using her whip in the incorrect place inside the final ½ furlong.
The performance of Dawndiva (GB) which started favourite and finished last of four runners, was considered.
The representative of Brian Meehan could offer no explanation for the filly’s performance, other than Martin Dwyer's report that she was never travelling.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Dawndiva (GB) during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, Kieran Shoemark reported that Fabricated (GB), placed second, hung left-handed under pressure.
