The representative of Venetia Williams could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance other than Philip Donovan reporting that Vivaccio (FR) had slipped on take-off at the third fence and made a jumping error at the third last fence.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Vivaccio (FR), during routine testing, revealed the gelding lost its right hind shoe.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Thyne For Gold (IRE), placed seventh, lost its right fore shoe.
