STAKES (CLASS 6) The Starter reported that Isabella Ruby (GB), trained by Lisa Williamson, had arrived at the start with the bit incorrectly fitted which had to be adjusted, causing a slight delay to the start of the race.
The trainer’s representative was interviewed after which his explanation that the mare had flipped the ring of the bit over after being saddled, was accepted.
Shortly after the start, a free-running Hit The Beat (GB), placed eighth, shifted right-handed making contact with Isabella Ruby (GB), placed sixth, on several occasions, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner Krazy Paving (GB) appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Kempton on 14 December 2020 where the gelding finished ninth of eleven, beaten by 10 lengths.
The representative of Olly Murphy’s explanation that Krazy Paving (GB) benefited from the re-application of blinkers on this occasion, was noted.
The gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that GRACIE’S GIRL, unplaced, had been struck into on its left-hind.
