P.J. Smullen, rider of Iffraja trained by Edward Lynam, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly hampered turning into the straight. D.P. Linehan, rider of Walled Garden trained by Edmond Daniel Linehan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slow to get into stride. The Stewards enquired into possible interference rounding the final bend involving Knockmaole Boy, ridden by J.P. O'Brien, placed second and Time For Art, ridden by F.M. Berry, placed first, where it appeared interference had taken place. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings. They did, however, find that F.M. Berry was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his very good record, the Stewards cautioned him.
