Permission was given for Nicholas T (GB) to go early to post.
Andrew Breslin, the rider of The Trader (IRE), placed fourth, had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Breslin’s explanation was noted that The Trader (IRE) had hung left in the final furlong, a fact which he had reported at Scales, and Nicholas T (GB), placed third, was already in front of him when he stopped riding.
He added that in his opinion, he had obtained the best possible placing.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong when The Trader (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Andrew Breslin interfered with Notation (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Joe Fanning.
Breslin was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift left with insufficient correction causing Fanning to take a check.
