Rookwith was produced with a well-timed run by Kevin Manning to lead under a furlong out and kept on well to land the spoils.

The winner was dropped back to a more suitable trip here having run over a mile-and-a-half last time.

The gelding has been placed over hurdles in the past and trainer Tom McCourt may try him again over timber.

Collingwood arrived to challenge over a furlong out but couldn't quicken with the winner and kept on at the one pace.

A winner over seven-furlongs twice last year this was a decent return to the Flat after a few no shows over hurdles and he could be capable of winning again.

Haoin An Bothar chased the leaders before moving through to pick it up a furlong-and-a-half from home. He kept on when headed inside the final furlong.

He had also run well here on his last visit when third to Cochlear and could be capable of picking up a prize at some stage.

Sophist appeared to get outpaced a bit over a furlong out before staying on well again in the closing stages while Fandango Boy arrived with a challenge on the outside a furlong but couldn't maintain the momentum in the closing stages.

Send Me Home (backed from 11/2 to 4/1) weakened turning in and finished last while favourite Striking Force was towards the rear throughout before running on a bit close home after being switched.
