< Elusive Heights got his career back on track when landing the feature race at Navan, the Follow Navan On Facebook Handicap.
Ger Lyons' lightly-raced gelding was brought down at the Curragh last time having looked so promising on his first two starts and he made amends here, holding off the fast-finishing Club Wexford by half a length.
There were any number in with a chance as they passed the furlong marker but it was the 2-1 market leader who picked up best and he had enough in reserve to hold off Club Wexford late on.< Aspar (10-3) came through with a well-timed challenge to land the Emerald Facility Event Cleaning Handicap.
Wayne Lordan was happy to bide his time on the recent Naas scorer in the early exchanges but made his move approaching the final furlong and his charge picked up well to see off Fit For Function by three quarters of a length.< Giselle's Charm opened her account at the third time of asking when proving much too strong for market rival Glenamoy Lad in the Irish Stallion EBF Auction Maiden.
Following her runner-up finish at Fairyhouse last month, the Casamento filly was sent off the 6-4 second favourite and always looked to have matters under control, taking over with three furlongs to run and extending three and a quarter lengths clear.
There was a big shock in the opening County & Western Evening Claiming Race as Landsman (11-2) readily brushed aside 1-6 favourite Roibeard
The latter was fully expected to add to his recent Fairyhouse success but despite travelling up strongly, he had no answer when Landsman kicked for home under Caroline Murtagh and there was seven lengths separating the pair at the line.< Black Label (8-1) produced a gutsy display when holding off a persistent challenge from Tempo Mac to land the Come Racing 27th August Handicap by half a length.
