Review listowel 6th Jun
< Blaze Brightly finally shed her maiden tag at the eighth time of asking at Listowel and Jessica Harrington's filly was certainly not winning out of turn.
Second three times last November, she was never far off the pace in the www.listowelraces.ie Median Auction Maiden and took over from Lake Worth soon after turning into the straight.
Lake Worth wasn't easily done with and stayed on stoutly, but Blaze Brightly (9-2) was kept up to her work by Fran Berry and passed the post a length to the good.
Newcomers dominated the finish of the the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden and it was the Jim Bolger-trained Roches Cross who came out on top.
Kevin Manning sent him into the lead turning into the straight and the 8-1 chance showed a willing attitude to hold off Tiz The Shot by half a length.
David Wachman has his string in fine form and he sent out Sixteen Forty Two to land his second victory at the track in the Clieveragh Handicap under Michael Cleere.
No sooner had Northern Rocked reached the front early in the straight than Sixteen Forty Two (7-1) swept past down the outside and he surged clear to win by two and a half lengths.
Tom Hogan's Spinning Wings (14-1) has not been setting the world alight of late, but she bounced back to her best when leading virtually all the way to take the Listowel Racecourse Handicap by three and a half lengths under Ben Curtis.
Pat Flynn and Danny Grant teamed up for a winner at Tramore on Saturday and they repeated the trick when Jeangeorges (7-1) romped clear in the straight to take the Jackie & Gene Handicap by three and a half lengths from stablemate Edmondstown Lass
Sean Levey was always prominent on Luddenmore (12-1) in the Listowel Castle Handicap and sent him on a furlong out before holding favourite Dreamalittledream by two and a half lengths.
