< Purple finally got her head in front as she broke her duck at the ninth attempt in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Killarney.
The regally bred daughter of Galileo was sent off the evens favourite and looked to be travelling best of all when she ranged up alongside leader Hayloft at the top of the straight.
Joseph O'Brien sent her on, but she took a while to edge away and then had to be rousted along to keep Starstruck at bay by half a length before surviving a stewards' inquiry.< Impound couldn't quite join the Dermot Weld cavalcade of winners at the Galway Festival when beaten half a length, but he ran on in gutsy fashion to take the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.
The 15-8 chance looked a sitting duck when O'Brien's odds-on favourite Hall Of Mirrors arrived on the scene in the final quarter-mile, but Pat Smullen kept him going and he passed the post with half a length to spare.
Weld and Smullen doubled up with the day's most impressive winner, Encrypted Message (5-6 favourite), who cleared right away in the final quarter-mile of the Robin Parke Memorial Handicap and won as he pleased by four and three-quarter lengths.
Kevin Prendergast's three-year-old Crystal Kangaroo continued on an upward curve with an emphatic victory in the Follow Killarney Racecourse On Facebook Maiden.
Prominent all the way, the 100-30 shot led after turning into the straight and showed a nice turn of foot to go clear before galloping on strongly to score by five lengths in the hands of Chris Hayes.
Tommy Stack's Van Rooney (5-1 favourite), course and distance winner of a maiden in May, repeated the trick when he came with a prolonged run down the outside under Wayne Lordan to collar Matjar and win the www.mosscontrol.ie Handicap by a neck.
