< Sapphire showed a liking for testing conditions as she romped away with the feature Irish Stallion Farms EBF Give Thanks Stakes at Cork.

Dermot Weld's filly, dropping down from Group One company after finishing second in the Pretty Polly Stakes on her last start, was sent off the 1-7 favourite and never gave her supporters a moment's worry.

Settled in second by Pat Smullen, she moved up to join Demurely three furlongs out and needed only to be nudged along to exert her authority before beating the Ballydoyle contender by seven and a half lengths for a second Group Three success this season.< Akeed Mofeed has always had a big reputation and John Oxx's colt, fourth in the Irish Derby on his seasonal bow, looked the part as he dismissed his opponents in the Platinum Stakes.

Duntle's absence took some of the lustre from the Listed contest, but the 2-5 favourite could do no more than beat those left in the race and he did so with complete authority, surging powerfully clear under Niall McCullagh to win by five lengths.

David Wachman saddled two for the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden and Curly Wee (3-1) won impressively by a length and three-quarters under Fran Berry, with the long odds-on Three Sea Captains only third after not getting the best of runs.

Wayne Lordan may have been out of luck on that occasion but he made no mistake in the corkracecourse.ie Handicap, taking charge a furlong out on Tommy Stack's 5-2 favourite Cape Of Approval and scoring by a length and three-quarters for his 50th success of the season.

Long-time leader Fastidious looked to have sewn up the Family Day Out Maiden as he held the advantage coming down the straight, but Gary Carroll arrived with a wet sail on Andy Oliver's newcomer Punch Your Weight (14-1) and he scooted a length and a quarter clear.
