Living Next Door & Ruby Walsh on their way to victory

Ruby Walsh enjoyed a double at Cork, culminating in Living Next Door s success in the Fathers Day June 16th Novice Handicap Hurdle.
An open affair saw a gaggle of horses in with a shout at the second-last, but Walsh, who had ridden the 4-1 favourite with restraint early on, nosed ahead approaching the last.
Keeping on well for Walsh's drive, the Tony Martin-trained gelding secured a six-length win over Whiskey And Rye
Walsh had earlier struck when Turban survived a blunder at the second last to land the July 12th BBQ Evening Beginners Chase.
Walsh had just crept into contention on the 7-4 favourite at that stage, but the seriousness of the error was lessened as his other two rivals also met the fence wrong.
Turban quickly gained an advantage after that, and ran on well to beat Darwins Fox by four and three-quarter lengths.
Walsh's treble bid was foiled when his mount Dougal Philps was comprehensively outpointed by Spot The Pro in the Friday Evening Racing Maiden Hurdle.
Walsh appeared to be travelling nicely on the 2-1 favourite as the field turned for home, but he still had ground to make up on Spot The Pro jumping the second last.
Patrick Kelly's 5-2 chance kept finding more for Paul Townend's urgings and the pair eventually pulled further clear after the last, eventually scoring with plenty in hand.
Edmond Kent's Teochew ran out a game winner of the Follow Cork On Facebook Mares Maiden Hurdle.
Sneaking up the inside under Donal Macauley, the 7-1 chance was one of four with strong claims at the second last, but she struck on after that and held off Get Off The Stage by four and a half lengths.
Claire O'Connell's Kennoway (6-1) landed the Munster Handicap Chase under Andrew Lynch, beating Steady Ed by four and a quarter lengths.
