< Venus De Milo stamped her class on the Munster Oaks at Cork to lead home a one-two for Aidan O'Brien in the Group Three contest.
Second twice in Group One company last season, the Duke Of Marmalade filly was coming off an unplaced seasonal debut run at Leopardstown nine days previously and was sent off the 5-2 second favourite.
She was driven through a gap on the rails inside her stable companion Dazzling two furlongs out by Joseph O'Brien and ran on strongly to score by a length and a quarter, with the disappointing market leader Edelmira well beaten.< Timeless Call (8-1) won at Listed level for the second time in her career when she took the Midsummer Sprint Stakes in the hands of Pat Smullen.
The Reggie Roberts-trained mare was quickly into her stride along the rail and after seeing off An Saighdiur inside the final two furlongs, she was always holding Jamesie s late charge and finished half a length in front.
Smullen was completing a double after the success of Willie McCreery's newcomer Leading Actress (5-2 joint-favourite), who came out best by a neck after a duel with Blackbriar through the final furlong of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.
Chris Hayes took a healthy lead into the closing stages of the Cork Derby on the front-running Eighteen Summers but Kevin Manning was always chasing him on Chance To Dance and Jim Bolger's 11-2 favourite got up close home to score by half a length.
Paul Deegan's filly Achnaha was placed at Group Three level earlier in the season so she had every right to win the corkracecourse.ie Median Auction Maiden, but Fran Berry had to call on the 8-11 favourite for a supreme effort to beat Muileata by a head.
The David Wachman-trained Amygdala (13-2) raced prominently on the rails under Wayne Lordan in the Summer BBQ July 11th Handicap and picked up nicely to overhaul Chiclet close home for a half-length victory.
