< Grace O'Malley put up a gutsy display to land back-to-back victories in the Kerry Group Noblesse Stakes at Cork.
The Dermot Weld-trained filly made all and would not give way as Karasiyra and Unity challenged in the closing stages.
The result could have gone either way but Grace O'Malley (7-2) stuck her neck out for Pat Smullen to get the verdict on the nod by a short head. Unity was just a neck back in third.
"It's a great day for Refuse To Bend (stallion) with Sarafina winning the French Oaks in France," said Weld's son Kris.
"Everybody is delighted. That's her second year in a row. She was brave and tough, making all and hanging on. It was a great ride from Pat.
"She's in foal to Shamardal. We might have a look at the Lancashire Oaks for her."
Ger Lyons has a decent two-year-old in Clondinnery who was a convincing winner of the Listed Rochestown Stakes.
The 7-4 favourite was soon in front and pulled out more to defeat Moment Of Weakness by three lengths in the hands of Keagan Latham.
Lyons' brother Shane said: "It was a toss up whether to come here or go for the Coventry at Royal Ascot.
"The next step for him will be the Railway Stakes at the Curragh on Derby day. Depending how he gets on there it will tell us where we go with him.
"He's a very professional horse at home and we think he'll be an even better three-year-old."< Khelino gave trainer Rodger Sweeney his first juvenile winner when taking the Cheestrings EBF Auction Maiden.
The daughter of Kheleyf, backed from 16-1 into 10s, got home by two lengths from hot favourite Joe Eile
"She's got plenty of boot and is for sale if we get the right money," said Sweeney.
At Roscommon, New Zealand champion apprentice James McDonald got off the mark with a double on Cabin Point (9-2 joint-favourite) and Tovaria (13-2).
He struck on Cabin Point for Jessica Harrington in the Four Mile House Handicap and on the Eddie Harty-trained Tovaria in the Property Partners Earley Auctioneers Handicap.
The 19-year-old came to Ireland to ride out for David Wachman
