After disappointing over the course and distance yesterday, Birth Of Venus bounced back to form to take the Bet Now With The Ladbrokes App Handicap.

Fifth to Dawn Hoofer just over twenty-four hours ago, the Henry de Bromhead trained filly was sent off a well-backed 11/10 favourite today (opened on-course at 13/8).

Prominent in the early stages, the daughter of High Chaparral was soon settled in third by Wayne Lordan.

She was switched to the outer and ridden from the two furlong pole, sweeping through to lead inside the final 150 yards, keeping on well from there to score by two lengths.

The Joseph O'Brien duo of Rockabill and Remmy D finished second and third respectively, with a length and a half between at the line.

Lordan said afterwards: "I thought she'd win last night but there was a lot of pace in the race and we went very quick and I don't think she was able to travel at any part of the race.

"But today I jumped and was able to travel and she finished out better because of it. It was three-year olds-plus yesterday but she was against her own age group today so that was probably a plus as well."
