Texas Jack came with a powerful late surge to land the Goffs Land Rover Bumper for Noel Meade.

The newcomer was held up in the early stages, by Jason McKeown, before making up ground approaching the bend.

He was ridden along in fifth entering the straight as Purcell's Bridge and Maller Tree settled down to fight it out.

McKeown got a good tune from his mount inside the final furlong to chase down the pair and record a two-length success.

Meade also saddled the fourth home Johannisberger and was delighted with the performance of both his charges.

"The reason Nina rode the other lad is that we thought the ground might not be soft enough for this horse," explained Meade.

"He's a nice horse and he quickened up really well. We brought him to Leopardstown to work before Cheltenham and maybe he knew a bit more than the other lad.

"The other fellow ran well but was very green. He didn't get into the rhythm of the race until it was over.

"They'll both be put away now until next season and go hurdling."

The winner is a half-brother to Tony Martin's decent chaser Drumconvis.
