Complete Fiction who had a wide trip from the outside stall, was eating up the ground in the closing stages but was a neck adrift at the line. Darkened was half a length further back in third with International Lady completing the frame.

Winning trainer John McConnell said: “That's great and she was given another good ride by Dylan.

“She was paddling a bit in the end but had been in front for a good bit and was getting a bit lonely.

“Obviously she came forward for winning the last day and hopefully can keep going as the handicapper is going to have his say again. The penny is dropping.

“That sort of trip suits and places like Killarney, front-running tracks, might suit her.

“Peter (Commane) is a really loyal owner and I'm happy to get another winner for him.”
