Niall Slippers Madden won the feature race at Sligo this afternoon winning the Irish Stallions EBF Novice Hurdle on Karlu trained by John McConnell. Slippers gave the horse a strong ride to get up and win in the closing stages.

McConnell said, "Slippers gave him a great ride, he was gutsy there. He was badly jarred after Kilbeggan, he?s only back in about 2 ? weeks and thought he might have needed the run. Long term plan would be the Pierce Hurdle."
