Simonsig looks name to remember
Simonsig destroyed his rivals to land the point-to-point bumper at Fairyhouse in great style.
The grey could be called the winner from some way out as he cruised into contention in the €50,000 event.
Chris Cully sent his mount on early in the straight and he soon powered clear for a 13-length success over Kandinski
Northern trainer Ian Ferguson is enjoying a memorable season having also landed the Foxhunters at Cheltenham with Zemsky:-
"That's him done for the season now. He'll be turned out into a field. He's still a bit weak and backward," said the Ballymena handler.
"I'll speak to the owner but he might move on to a bigger trainer in England now."
Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary was offering to purchase the winner of the race for €100,000 but owner Ronnie Bartlett turned down the bid.
Ferguson had predicted as much:- "He'll keep him and have fun with him."
Winning rider Cully was impressed by his partner:- "He's a very good horse. From August when he came in Ian always said he was good.
"He nurtured him and this was always the plan. It paid off.
"He was going too well early on and I picked it up three furlongs out where ideally I would have waited until a furlong out. He's a very good horse."
