Riyami struck back up in trip at Dundalk tonight when given a well judged ride by Joey Sheridan in the two-mile handicap.
The Denis Hogan-trained gelding had won over course and distance late last month before finishing a slightly unlucky fifth back at a mile-and-a-half here a fortnight ago.
He was held up tonight before travelling well to challenge two furlongs from home.
The 6/1 shot was soon pushed along to lead and kept on strongly in the closing stages to post a cosy length win over Folly Beach
Hogan said: "The last day the trip beat us and he was unlucky. Really he is a hard ride over 1m4f because you need them to go very hard and they didn't.
"We thought he was going to be a very nice horse - we bought him from Mick Halford but he was a bit backward and took time to come to hand.
"He could probably go back over hurdles, he is actually entered on Monday at Leopardstown. It would need to be good ground, though.
It was great for Joey, he has had a tough time having buried his mum last week.
"It was lovely tonight and brilliant for this man (Patrick John O'Brien), it is his first runner and he only got colours yesterday. He's only 18 and he has just come from doing his exams today."
