The finale at Dundalk produced a thrilling three-way finish and Celtic Revival stuck his head out close home to land the spoils in the second division of the mile-and-a-half handicap. Oranmore Celtic Revival and Sand Castle battled in out inside the final furlong.
It was the Eddie Lynam-trained gelding who just had his head down at the right time passing the line to edge the verdict under James Ryan.
The 13/2 shot got home by a head from Oranmore with just a neck back to Sand Castle in third.
It was a first career success for the son of Sea The Stars and Lynam said afterwards:-
Lynam said: "Aileen (Lynam, wife) bred him and we dreamed he was going to be good being by Sea The Stars, but he is what he is and at least he has got a win.
"He (James Ryan) was very good on him - if you watch him through the race, he's not a simple ride. He gave him a lovely ride.
"He would (get more opportunities), I'd be keen to use him if I can get him."
