Queen Catrine on her first start for Ger Lyons, took Listed glory in the Clodovil European Breeders Fund Garnet Stakes over a mile at Naas.

The four-year-old filly won a conditions race at Leicester in June for Charles Hills and was second in last year's Sandingham Handicap at Royal Ascot.

In today's contest she raced in third before looming large on the outside of Tamadhor and Hint Of A Tint with a quarter of a mile to travel.

She was still on the bridle at that stage and was soon pushed along by Colin Keane to pick up the lead over a furlong out.

The 5/1 shot was kept up to her work to take the honours by a length and three quarters from the staying on Assume (6/1).

Ger Lyons said: "I've liked what I've seen at home and she is a very smart filly. She hit the front too soon but went on and did her job.

"I got her about a month ago. She's been working well but you only really find out when they run on the track.

"It's up in the air whether she stays in training but on that performance I'd like to think there is a Group Three in her."
