The Brian Hamilton trained Open Up Your Heart caused a 33/1 upset in the concluding St Patricks Day Punters Pack Bumper at Down Royal today, to provide his rider Declan Lavery with his first winner.

The son of Bach improved to lead over a furlong out eventually staying on well to see off the challenge of Raggletagglegypsy

Afterwards Hamilton stated “we brought Open Up Your Heart for a gallop at Dundalk recently and he went well, under Declan, so the owners were happy to give him the ride today.”

Nineteen year old Lavery, originally from Downpatrick, had been working for Neil Mulholland in England but came back to Ireland some months ago and currently works for Willie Mullins and rides work for Hamilton.
