Dont Do Dramas made every yard of the running under Billy Lee to run out a gutsy winner of the opening Golf At Gowran Park Nursery Handicap at the County Kilkenny track.
The son of Le Havre, making his handicap debut, was well supported prior to the race, backed from 5/1 into 7/2jf.
Sent straight to the front by Lee, the Michael Mulvany trained gelding led into the straight before coming stands side in search of better ground.
Shane Foley tracked the leader on Guest Star adopting a similar move before producing his mount to challenge over a furlong out.
However, Lee found a willing partner in Dont Do Dramas, staying on in determined style to run out a half-length winner.
“It was probably his ideal conditions out there and he'll probably stay a little bit further in time,” said Mulvany.
“He's a horse that's learning on the job and he seems to be improving. It's the lads' first horse so I'm delighted for them.
“Billy said he was a very willing partner and he really put his shoulder to the wheel, which you want out there.
“There is a nursery coming up in Galway for him, we won it last year with Duke Of Leggagh. Hopefully the handicapper won't go mad with him and we'll be having a go at it.
“I walked the track beforehand and I thought there was definitely a strip up the straight that he came up on. That was the plan from the word go.”
