Trainer Joe Murray and his fiancee Lisa Sheridan received an early, but not altogether unexpected, wedding present at Dundalk this evening as their Captain Midnight landed the Crowne Plaza Hotel Race & Stay Handicap, 24 hours ahead of the pair's big day.
Seven to four favourite Captain Midnight, which carries the colours of trainer Murray's fiancee Lisa Sheridan, had previously won on his debut for the pair last week at the same venue and maintained his 100% record when staying on gamely for a short head win under apprentice jockey Keith Moriarty.
Following the won, Joe Murray stated "it wasn't the plan to come back so soon but he was in too good a form. He was very game in the finish.
"We'll see what the handicapper does but he'll probably get a little break now. He goes well on that surface, and likes good ground on the grass."
