Meister Eckhart makes it two from two
Meister Eckhart made it two from two in the last race on the card at Naas this afternoon, the Become A Go Racing In Kildare Member Bumper over 2m 3f, for his trainer Charlie Swan with Nina Carberry aboard.
The son of Flemensfirth scored in impressive fashion on his debut at Sligo last month beating Fire Belt by thirteen lengths.
He was well fancied to follow up today and was sent to post the 4/5 favourite having open at 11/10.
His main market rival at 2/1 Murchu made the early running but when challenged by the winner over three furlongs out he had no answer and faded eventually finishing third.
The winner went on from there and was pushed out to an easy six length win over Ravensbury (6/1) who kept on into second under Katie Walsh, who had made a quick dash from Kilsheelan point-to-point, where she had partnered her father Ted’s Battlefront to victory.
Father of the winning owner Tim Hyde senior said afterwards: "He won very easy. Charlie (Swan) though he would win at Sligo and he was hopeful of a good run today.
"We will have to speak with Charlie with regard to future plans.
“He is a lovely, relax horse who looks like he would get three miles.”
