No Thanks was another reserve to get on the scoresheet at Galway when he took the concluding Latin Quarter Handicap.
The well supported 4/1 chance tracked Decimal Day approaching the final half mile of this extended two mile staying test.
Declan McDonogh sent him into a narrow lead inside the three pole and the pair went for glory a furlong and a half out.
They hugged the rail and slipped a couple of lengths clear of the pack a furlong out and had enough in the tank to see off the closers.
The margin back to runner-up Crowns Major (5/1) was half a length. Landa Beach was a neck down in third at 20/1. Isotope came in fourth, a length and three quarter further back, at 22/1.
“That was a nice change of luck for the horse and it's nice that it came here. He had a tough race yesterday (when third), he's tough and genuine,” said trainer Matthew Smith.
“We were getting a bit frustrated but it's great to get a winner here. We'll be happy enough if that's all we get.
“He's very straightforward and has been a bit unlucky on his last few runs.”
The winner holds engagements on Saturday and Sunday and Smith added:- “We'll see how he is. He can get a nice little bit after it.”
