Mansion House kept up the gallop to land the seven furlong juvenile maiden at Limerick, but all the drama happened in behind.

Colm O’Donoghue suffered a fall from Diamond Lucy as she appeared to clip the heels of Two Auld Pals who was racing in third at the two furlong pole.

Two Auld Pals seemed to suffer an injury in the process as Ronan Whelan eased right down on the Pat Shanahan-trained colt. It was reported afterwards that he severed a tendon.

Mansion House, son of Galileo, came home five lengths to the good on his debut partnered by in-form jockey Billy Lee at 7/2 for David Wachman. Main Straits the 11/8 favourite, could make no headway on the winner and had to settle for second under Wayne Lordan while Prince Art (25/1) completed the placings.

“He jumped well and travelled. It’s been a brilliant week,” jockey Billy Lee said.

On yesterday’s Royal Ascot Britannia Stakes winner Roca Tumu he added: “Joanna (Morgan) said he was good. I thought they were going to collar me, but he battled well.”

Mansion House was Lee’s seventh winner in a week.

Colm O'Donoghue was sent to hospital for an X-ray on a suspected fractured collarbone.
