Madam the Top mare at Wexford

Kiltealy man Harley Dunne recorded his first winner at his local track as he took the Casey Tarmacadam Mares Hurdle aboard the ultra-consistent Donal Coffey trained Top Madam
Sent off at 4/1, the 6yo daughter of Beneficial (second win of this afternoon for that sire after Call Rog , tracked the leaders early on before making headway to lead at the halfway stage.
She was ridden at the second last but kept on well under pressure to assert before the last and stay on best on the run-in to score by a length and a quarter at the line.
The Paul Nolan trained Rising Time ran a nice race to finish second at 4/1 while Miss Accurate was a further half a length back in third at 10/1 for Dessie Hughes and Bryan Cooper.
Winning trainer Donal Coffey, who won this race in 2009 with Printing Copper, said afterwards: “She likes good ground and hopefully she will stay right.
“She won a point-to-point and she will eventually go chasing.” Streamtown was sent off the 10/3 favourite for Stuart Crawford after being backed on-course from 9/2.
The daughter of Bob Back was beaten turning for home and could only manage seventh.
Top Madam was recording her fourth success of the 2012/13 National Hunt season this afternoon.
