Dawn Shadow makes a swift return to action after crashing out at the first fence in the Drinmore Novice Chase when she lines up at Cork on Sunday.

Dot Love 's charge drops to Grade Three company against her own sex in the Kerry Group Irish EBF Mares Novice Chase, after tackling the highest level at Fairyhouse last weekend.

The six-year-old, who was a Listed winner over hurdles, had previously won over fences at Galway and Love has high hopes of Dawn Shadow getting back on the winning trail this weekend.

She said: "She’s absolutely fine. It was lucky she kind of fell on her side and rolled, rather than falling on her neck or anything.

"She had a little bit of exercising around and then we schooled her on Friday and she jumped great.

"The fall wasn’t really her fault, as one of the other horses pushed into her a bit, but she’s in great form.

"The rain has come now so the ground should suit — she likes a bit of juice, she’s not a top of the ground horse.

"Obviously it’s an easier race than last week and we’re very optimistic."

Dawn Shadow is one of 10 contenders with Willie Mullins' Camelia De Cotte leading the way after winning three of her four chase starts so far.

Mullins also has a likely favourite in the other Grade Three event, the Kerry Group Stayers Novice Hurdle, in the shape of Robin De Carlow

She impressed in a Listed heat over this course and three-mile distance last time and appears to hold all the aces for Paul Townend.

Mullins also fields Pleasure Dome while Gordon Elliott runs Elwood who fell when taking on Robin De Carlow last time out.

Flat winner Maze Runner is a notable starter for the Mullins team in the opening Galtee 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle, while Elliott’s dual bumper winner Getaway John will try to make amends for an odds-on reverse when last seen as he goes in the Charleville Cheese Maiden Hurdle.
