Chris Hayes gained his revenge on Declan McDonogh in the second at Sligo as Premier League proved too strong for hotpot Luzum
The 8/13 favourite bounced out to make the running in the rated race but was joined at halfway by Premier League.
Hayes sent his mount to the front passing the two pole and the Mick Mulvany-trained gelding galloped on strongly in the closing stages to post a five-and-a-half length success at odds of 7/4.
The winner was stepping back up in trip today having finished second over five at Navan last time.
McDonogh, rider of Luzum, had prevailed in the opener when getting Alanannda up to beat Hayes' mount Loving A Boom
Mulvany said:- “I was a bit worried about the ground but it was drying here all the time, and the drainage job here seems to have worked well.
“Chris said he was a horse that might just suit Galway as he has good early pace and seems to cruise along.
“I nearly didn’t run him today only there was such a small field. They are running well, and we had six seconds in the last ten days so it’s nice to get a winner.”
