Green To Gold landed a gamble in division two of the one mile six furlong handicap at Bellewstown in style under Fran Berry.

The Christy Roche trained son of Daylami was heavily supported from an opening show of 7/2 down to 2/1 favouritism as original favourite Strain To Fame drifted from 6/4 to 9/4.

The market proved correct as Berry took up the running over a furlong out and scooted clear with Green To Gold by eight lengths from Cinderella Story and a further half a length back to Strain Of Fame

Christy Roche’s son Padraig representing his father said: “It’s nice to get a win. He will probably tip away over hurdles and the flat over the summer.”
