A sparkling week for Suirview Stables graduates saw Appreciate It, Bob Olinger and Colreevy do the business over at Cheltenham. The Pat and Mary Doyle academy have another nice prospect on their hands after Hunters Yarn ran away with the www.thurlesraces.ie (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race this afternoon.

Following on from their bumper scorer at Limerick last Sunday, Flame Bearer, Hunters Yarn (100/30 into 11/4 2nd favourite) was also ridden by Pa King, and the Fame And Glory youngster was equipped with a first-time tongue-strap here.

He built on a decent Naas debut third placing 35 days ago to slam Noble Birth and Agape by seventeen lengths and a length and a quarter. Hasty Brook (10s into 7/2) could manage only seventh place, whilst Baba Buck’s (7/4 favourite) beat just two home.

"He is a very nice horse and things didn't work out perfect in Naas but he came out of the race well and showed he is a very good horse,” said King.

"We went a bit steady in Naas and maybe he was a little bit green but improved a good bit from the run. He is a fantastic jumper too."

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Baba Buck's (FR), trained by Mrs Denise Foster, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards interviewed Mr M.J. Sweeney, rider of Lurgoe (GER), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he had used his whip excessively and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency). Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended Mr. M.J. Sweeney for one raceday and ordered that he attend R.A.C.E for one day's tuition on the correct use of the whip.
