A chase winner at Downpatrick in June and runner-up on his previous start in a three-mile hurdle at Wexford, Tullyveery Lad (7/1) landed the Comeragh Veterinary Kilmacthomas Handicap Hurdle under Donagh Meyler.
Never far from the pace, the Famous Name gelding was ridden in pursuit of Scottish Dancer (third at this track yesterday) on the approach to two out and collared that one before the last for a three-and-a-half lengths victory.
Ray Cody trains the seven-year-old for Pat Tennyson and said: "He is around forever and that's his third win. He got an injury running around here and when he came back he wasn't right for a long time, but he is in a right vein of form now. He isn't winning big races but it's great for his owners.
"If he comes back and eats up, he'll probably run again on Sunday (over fences). Paddy Hanlon was suspended today, so we got Donagh instead and you couldn't get better. Paddy gets on very well with him and he'll probably be disappointed today, but he'll ride him on Sunday.
"My nephew Paddy had a winner earlier for Kieran Purcell and I'm delighted for them.
"It's a pity to beat my neighbour Eoin (Doyle). Myself and Eoin are good friends."
