Charms Bracelet gained a maiden win at the 21st attempt at Downpatrick today, landing the JP Handicap Hurdle under an enterprising ride from jockey Jack Kennedy.

Kennedy elected to move the four year old daughter of Tamayuz clear with four flights to jump and the decision paid off as the pair maintained their clear lead to eventually beat Pinotage by three and a half lengths.

Winning trainer Adrian Murray was on lead-up duties but afterwards Kennedy reported "I rode her in Down Royal two runs back and she ran a cracker that day and finished fourth. She just likes it out in front when she gets things her own way. She jumps brilliantly and travels away so everything went to plan today.

"I thought the last day in Down Royal she wanted just a little bit more of an ease so it seemed perfect today.

"She winged the fourth last and she took off and I thought it was a bit far out to be going on but she did it well."
