The Aidan Fogarty/Con Marnane partnership got off the mark in Ireland, as On A Session took the Follow BetVictorRacing On Twitter Handicap.
The newly formed alliance had their first success at Haydock last month with Forever In Dreams landing a Listed contest.
A dual winner when trained in France by Matthieu Palussiere, On A Session finished last on his Irish debut in Group 3 Lacken Stakes at Naas.
Dropped in class today and tried in handicap company for the first time, the bay colt was sent off at 20/1 under Shane Crosse.
Settled in mid-division, the three-year-old was ridden from the two furlong pole and came with his challenge on the outer with 200 yards left to race. He kept on well from there and got up close home to prevail by a neck. Sors (12/1) was the one just denied for the Slattery's, while Fit For Function (4/1f), who won this race twelve months ago, was another length and three parts back in third.
Fogarty said afterwards: "He hadn't run in a year before he ran the last day and was a bit lazy and today Shane was saying he was lazy too.
"We fancied him coming here as he is after improving a good bit since his run the last day.
"He is a nice horse and is by Noble Mission and they all stay."
