Dylan Thomas strikes at 1st attempt
Jim Bolger landed the opening juvenile race of the season in the steward's room with Whip Rule at the Curragh last Sunday and with Dylan Thomas' first runner Coolcullen also supplied the second two-year-old winner of the campaign when Snowflake Dancer took the opener at Dundalk under Kevin Manning.
From the family of top-class sprinter Kistena, Snowflake Dancer was always on the pace and he did enough to fend off Richard Fahey's raider One Kool Dude and connections of Sunday's demoted Curragh scorer, Tough As Nails, the Mulvanys, had to settle for third here with Battleroftheboyne
This was a rough race with the well-fancied Bible Black not getting the required space to race at the business end whilst Diamond Rainbow also failed to secure a clear passage. After a steward's enquiry the placings remained unaltered.
Ger Flynn, representing Bolger, said of the June Judd-owned winner: "Kevin really likes him. He has shown ability at home but he'll appreciate further, certainly seven furlongs. He could be a proper horse when he steps-up in trip."
