The 8/13 favourite Too Scoops got off the mark over hurdles as he took the Follow Cork Racecourse on Facebook Maiden Hurdle, providing his rider Davy Russell with a double on the card (won earlier on Rebel Fitz .
Trained by Henry De Bromhead, the 5yo son of Alderbrook was beaten by a neck on his hurdling debut at Gowran in June by Maxim Gorky while he was beaten by a head on his next start by Gold Ability on the Wednesday of the Galway Festival.
Stepped up in trip to 2m 4f for the first time this afternoon, he chased the leaders early on and was third halfway.
He improved to challenge three out and soon disputed the lead with Champagne Agent and Imperial Cascade
He gained a narrow lead at the last over the former and he kept on well on the run-in to score by a length and a half at the line.
Champagne Agent finished second at 5/2 under David Casey for Willie Mullins while Imperial Cascade was a further five lengths back in third at 8/1 for Jessica Harrington and Robbie Power.
Winning trainer Henry De Bromhead said afterwards: "Davy was confident on him to say the least. He had me nervous jumping the final flight but he didn't have to hit him which is good.
"He always looked like a horse that would stay and a better gallop would have suited him. What was meant to happen in Galway, happened today!
"He could go for a novice hurdle now around the end of September. The Dumb Dumb Syndicate is made up of guys who work with Paddy Powers so the meeting they sponsor at Cheltenham in November is a possibility.
"Seemingly Dumb Dumb is a drink made up for cider, red bull and vodka."
