Dinoblue took advantage of the final fence departure of Whiskeywealth to run out an easy winner of the BoyleSports Novice Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse.
In doing so, the mare gave trainer Willie Mullins a fourth winner on this card, to add to the three he recorded at Cork. On this occasion, it is uncertain whether the win would have been achieved had the leader Whiskeywealth stayed standing.
The latter took over from long time leader Irish Blaze early in the straight and still held a couple of lengths lead when departing at the last. Mark Walsh was pushing away on the eventual winner at that stage but she was responding to his urgings.
Having run a huge race when second in the Grand Annual at Cheltenham last month, Dinoblue was winning for the second time over fences.
David Casey said:- “Mark said he thought he was probably a fraction lucky but either way even if she had been second I thought it was a very good performance coming back from a tough run in Cheltenham.
“She jumped super. You need a bit of luck. There is an open handicap at Punchestown and she'll get an entry in it, we'll see what happens.”
