Cybersnow resumes with a win
Cybersnow returned to action with a bang when running out a stylish winner of the first division of the Keeping It Country Handicap Hurdle at Downpatrick.
The gelding had only recently been cleared to resume racing after being the centre of a lengthy Turf Club investigation into allegations he ran under the name “Man About Town” in a flapper race in Co Donegal in June of last year.
Owner James Ferry’s lodged a successful appeal with the Turf Club after the gelding had initially been banned from racing for two years in May.
The result never looked in much doubt today with Keith Donoghue cruising throughout on the gelding.
He hit the front passing the omitted second last and went on for a 10-length success over Information
The six-year-old is now under the care of former apprentice and conditional jockey Emmet Butterly, who was saddling his first runner from his County Donegal base having just been granted a licence last week.
"That's my first runner and first winner," said a delighted Butterly.
"I just have four in training in Letterkenny. He's in at Tramore and we'll see how he comes out of this."
It was a double on the card for Keith Donoghue, who had also struck earlier aboard Almanyan
